Adele who? Jessie Ware’s show in Los Angeles was pretty much the heart eye emoji brought to life. From start to finish, Ware exuded happiness, talent, and brilliance that is incomparable.

Simply put, the English Chantuese crooned her way into Angelenos’ hearts Thursday night. Fresh after releasing her latest album, “Tough Love,” Ware crossed the Atlantic to play a small number of shows across the states to promote the record.

Easily selling out Tower Theater, Jessie Ware delivered a solid but varied performance to an audience that loves her as much as she loves them. Although many may associate Ware with ballads, the Londoner proved to have much more down her sleeves this time around. “Cruel,” “All On You” and “Keep On Lying” feature more synths than her other tracks, which lends to a rather varied live set.

That said, however, the ballads are what Jessie Ware does best. Her set featured “Tough Love,” the infectious lead single off the record, and her latest single, “Say You Love Me,” a beautiful track that Ware cowrote with Ed Sheeran. The recently married Ware also sang a song titled “You & I (Forever)” which is a song she said she wrote when she was waiting for her now-husband to be hers forever (cue the “awww!).

But perhaps what makes her as lovable a person as she is a singer is her on stage banter. The fact that she pointed on a long time fan named Glen and called out other members of the audience by name shows off her humility and humor. Cutting through her beautifully somber ballads with her light jokes, Ware captured the hearts of her audience and made fans out of those who were unfamiliar. It is no wonder that Haim were in attendance and Sam Smith has championed Jessie Ware through and through–her emotion filled songs combined with her impeccable live vocals made Thursday night very special for music fans.
