INTERVIEW: MAGIC MAN

I was still stuck in Boston traffic at 12:50, and I knew I was going to miss the Magic Man set at Boston Calling. I arrived in the nick of time to watch the quintet perform the last few songs of their set and I was blown away. The sun shone in Boston and the massive crowd that the band attracted were vibing off every beat of their songs, especially “Paris.” Led by front man Alex Caplow, Magic Man set the tone of that festival day with their triumphant synth-pop songs. Their tunes, nay, anthems, will undoubtedly send chills down your spine and make you want to see them in action right away.

If you can, catch them supporting Panic At The Disco! this summer. If not, please do yourselves a favor and buy their album “Before The Waves,” which comes out today! I promise you, it will not disappoint; you’ll be listening to their uptempo debut effort everyday this summer.

I had a chance to catch up with the band at Boston Calling where we talked about YMCAs, dream festival line ups, and of course, their music. Enjoy our chat (apologies for the sound, there were shows literally happening right behind us)!
